Welcome Back

Welcome to another exciting school year!  My name is Mr. Viereck and I am Teaching Computer and Information Technology.

The 21st century requires students to develop and use new skills. I use a Hybrid method of teaching. Hybrid courses pair the best features of face-to-face teaching with the best options in online learning to promote active and independent learning. Many assignments can be done at home with a computer and Internet access. Although a computer would greatly enhance the learning experience, it is not necessary.  An inexpensive pair of headphones or ear buds are recommended for class. This is a more sanitary solution to sharing classroom headphones.

Computer and Information Technology will facilitate the cross-discipline application of academic knowledge, creativity, design, and innovation skills with the integration of the Internet and digital media into the study of cutting-edge topics in science and technology. This course will feature problem-based learning and comprehensive projects as the primary instructional methodology for all students.

Students should sign up for a Google/Gmail account. (It is important to remember / write down the Username and Password).  We will use many of Google’s online tools, including Documents, Gmail, Sites and Blogger. More information about this course is available at the class website: http://viereckquestion.blogspot.com

Please sign and return the EOSD Audio andImage Consent, Release and Waiver A Link to the course syllabus is provided below. This year will be using Class Dojo as part of the reward and discipline plan. Please sign up for Class Dojo using the enclosed student and parent access codes.

This year I’m using Class Dojo to encourage important skills, like working hard and participating. I'll also use it to communicate with you: we can instantly share messages, updates and photos from class. It's the easiest way for you to see how your child is doing at school and to get in touch with me. I will need your cell number or email to invite you to Class Dojo.

Please visit the class blog (http://viereckquestion.blogspot.com/) for more information. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Everyone is expect to follow the class rules and procedures:
  1. Keep phone in a pockets or a bag
  2. Wear Headphones only when listening to tutorials
  3. No speakers
  4. Keep yourself on task
